New calendar experience & right click

We are very happy to present this new version (0.13) of the Routine app on desktop and Web.

As you know, we’ve been working tirelessly for the past 3 years, building the modern calendar app that you use on a daily basis.

We now need your help to take Routine to the next level!

🍾 New Features

  • The calendar experience has been completely reworked to be faster and more intuitive.
    • Events are now created and previewed in the left pane
    • The left pane can be hidden if you want more space for your calendar events
    • A date picker has been introduced for a faster navigation

  • A right click has also been introduced to operate tasks, events, note blocks etc. a lot faster.

✂️ Improvements

  • The screens previously named Today and Planner have been renamed to Agenda and Calendar respectively
  • The set of icons have been reworked for more consistency throughout the app
  • Events can now be selected and operated through keyboard shortcuts and the new right click.

  • Whenever an item disappears from a list (e.g a task is scheduled to another day), a nearby (previous/next) item is now automatically selected
  • The inbox filtering mechanism has been improved with a new user interface
  • Performances have been further improved
  • CMD+CLICK to open links has been fixed
  • The bug that sometimes reverted the notes to a previous state has been fixed

We are currently working on two things:

  • A new screens organization to allow you to more easily find your items:
    • Unplanned tasks
    • Meeting notes
    • etc.
  • Fixing the remaining bugs in order to get Routine ready for prime time
